Tata Sierra 2025 Launch Date & When It’s Coming Back

Tata Motors has officially confirmed that the iconic Tata Sierra will make its long-awaited return in the second half of 2025. The brand is set to offer the Sierra in two powertrain options: an all-electric variant (Sierra EV) and a traditional Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) version. Here’s what we can expect from the upcoming launch:

Tata Sierra ICE: Built on the New ATLAS Platform

The ICE-powered Tata Sierra is expected to be built on the innovative ATLAS platform, which stands for Adaptive Tech Forward Lifestyle. This new platform is designed to accommodate a variety of body styles, including SUVs, MPVs, and sedans, while also supporting advanced features like 4X4 capabilities. If Tata Motors adds 4X4 to the ICE Sierra, it will be the brand’s first 4X4 ICE SUV since the discontinuation of the Safari Storme in 2020.

Tata Sierra EV: Powered by the Harrier EV’s Gen2 Architecture

The Sierra EV will be built on Tata Motors’ cutting-edge Acti.EV architecture, which is the same Gen2 EV platform used in the upcoming Harrier EV and the Curvv EV. The Sierra EV will likely feature a dual-motor setup, similar to the Harrier EV, providing all-wheel-drive (AWD) capabilities. This EV variant is expected to be the first to hit the market, with the ICE version following shortly after.

Launch Timeline: Sierra EV First, ICE Version to Follow

Tata Motors has confirmed that the Sierra EV will be launched first in the second half of 2025, followed by the ICE version shortly after. This launch strategy mirrors the approach used for the Tata Curvv, where the EV variant launched first, followed by the ICE version a month later.

What’s Next for Tata Motors?

Before the Sierra, Tata Motors is set to launch the Harrier EV in early 2025, which will share several mechanical components with the Sierra EV. With the Sierra’s design already patented, anticipation is building for what could be one of the most significant releases from Tata Motors in recent years.

Key Features to Expect from the Tata Sierra 2025:

  • Dual Powertrain Options: Choose between the Sierra EV or the traditional ICE version.

  • All-Wheel-Drive (AWD): Both variants are expected to feature 4X4 or AWD options.

  • ATLAS Platform for ICE: The ATLAS platform supports a wide range of body styles and technologies.

  • Acti.EV Architecture for EV: The Gen2 EV platform will deliver cutting-edge electric performance.
